From 4th-7th January, 1915, the 1st Dorset battalion of 15 Brigade, 5th Division were in trenches at Wulverghem, south of the Wulverghem-Messines road. The battalion diary entry for their final day here recorded that it was a very quiet day, not a sentiment that would have been shared by James Griffiths who was one of the two men from the battalion who was killed on 7th January. |
